Google scored a major win on the back of Microsoft's support cut-off, as the London borough of Barking and Dagenham revealed on Wednesday that it has embarked on a major migration project to Chromebooks and Chromeboxes ahead of the 8 April deadline.
The UK government has decided the best policy is to delay migration for another year, and has signed a one-year support extension deal to the tune of £5.5m. This allows all public sector bodies to get free XP security patches until April 2015.
