Ted Baker picks Microsoft Dynamics AX to support worldwide ambitions

Fashion company says Microsoft ERP will enable it to streamline operations

British fashion brand Ted Baker has selected Microsoft Dynamics AX as the enterprise software system to support its global growth.

The retailer, which distributes across five continents in various types of retail stores and concessions, is working with Microsoft and systems integrator K3 to implement the solution.

According to Microsoft, the retailer needed an enterprise software platform that could better support business growth for the next 10 to 15 years by improving reporting, reducing duplication and making information more readily accessible.

The implementation has already begun and the first pilot is expected to go live in early 2015, with other geographies following suit thereafter.

Dustan Steer, IT director for Ted Baker, said the deployment is coupled "with strong support services from Microsoft", and will enable the fashion brand to "equip the business with the right tools and processes to streamline our operations and reduce people-intensive activities".

"Dynamics AX will give us the ability to better anticipate and embrace change and support future global growth," he added.

Craig Smith, brand communication director at Ted Baker, said that the fashion brand had a "very clear vision and ambition" for its business.

"It was important we worked with a vendor that had the right cultural fit, as well as powerful technology. Microsoft's brand aligns very closely with our core principles, and Dynamics AX is a highly robust, reliable ERP [enterprise resource planning] system," he added.
