Five year deal aims to improve services while cutting costs

North Yorkshire Police has selected Capita technology solutions to aid with modernising the force's organisational support functions.

The deal, worth up to £1.25 million over five years, will see Capita Secure Resource Solutions provide tools for HR, training, and duty management and is expected to make services more efficient while cutting costs.

"By upgrading our duty management, HR and training systems with Capita and taking a more self-service based approach to managing data, North Yorkshire Police will have a solution which will not only save the force money, it will deliver the underpinning services to make the force more effective and responsive." said Deputy chief constable of North Yorkshire Police Tim Madgwick.

Lucy Bailey, managing director of Capita Secure Resource Solutions added the firm is working closely with the police to drive efficiencies.

"All police forces are facing the pressure to make cuts while at the same time improving efficiency and maintaining front line services. This is a tough challenge, but Capita is working closely with its police partners to enable this challenge to be met," she said.

"Streamlining organisational support is a clear way for the forces to become more efficient, and Origin is a proven platform which is now assisting forces across the country to make significant savings while maintaining or improving their frontline services ," Bailey added.

The deal with North Yorkshire Police now means Capita provides organisational support solutions for all four police forces in the Yorkshire region.
