Facebook is set to make a significant announcement on Thursday on its mobile plans around Android, with rumours suggesting a new custom version of the operating system centred on its social media services.

There are also rumours the firm will announce a partnership with manufacturer HTC for the first phone to run the system, which may be called, appropriately enough, the HTC First, although this remains speculation at present.

No doubt all will become clear later when Mark Zuckerberg takes to the stage and V3 will be live at a streaming of the event from the Facebook offices in London to bring you all the news as it's announced.
