Business analytics provider SAS has launched the SAS Student Academy to help staff a big data analytics revolution, through a joint initiative with Birmingham City University (BCU).
In this video, the CEO of sector skills body e-skills UK Karen Price, SAS marketing director Richard Kellett and BCU Professor Melvyn Lees talk about what the academy means for the IT industry and the university. They also talk about how they would like to build on the launch to help fill a big data skills gap.
In addition, Matt Fryer, a student at the University of Exeter who is enrolled on an e-Skills ITMB course explains why he has decided to focus on developing skills in big data.
