Top 10 reviews of 2012: Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone and One X; iPad vs Nexus tablets

The top 10 most popular reviews for V3 readers this year are a good reflection of where corporate IT departments should be focusing their efforts in 2013 - mobiles, tablets and bring your own device strategies.

V3 readers were most excited to read about whether the Samsung Galaxy S3 could win out as best smartphone of 2012, or would be beaten into submission by the HTC One X, or the mighty iPhone 4S and its successor the iPhone 5.

But it wasn't all about Apple and Samsung in the smartphone arena. Microsoft impressed with its latest mobile operating system, and we were similarly impressed with Nokia's flagship Windows Phone 8 device, the Lumia 920.

On the tablets side, readers were eager to find out if the iPad small and large could retain its crown against the upstart Google Nexus 7. While the tablet market was still dominated by Apple in 2012, this looks set to shift dramatically next year, as buyers are tempted away from the high-end iPad by the low-cost and decent performance of devices like the Nexus 10 and the brand power of Amazon.

This should all make for an interesting year of product reviews on V3 throughout 2013. Happy New Year to all our readers!
