Top 10 most read: Kindle Fire HD, iPad Mini and Nokia 920 review

Two weeks ago the entire technology industry appeared ready to unveil something new and shiny, with Apple, Amazon, Google and Microsoft all showing off new platforms and devices as their ongoing battle for market dominance shows no signs of abating.

As such it was no surprise that the most popular articles of the past seven days focused on our reviews of these devices, including the Kindle Fire HD - finally available in the UK - and the Google Nexus 10 device from Samsung.

The Nokia Lumia 920 running on Windows Phone 8 was also reviewed, and received a coveted five-star review, while our early impressions from a hands-on review of the iPad Mini was also popular.

Elsewhere, 4G hit the headlines when EE turned on its 4G network to bring these superfast services to the UK for the first time. BT also promised more superfast internet access with its fibre rollouts brought forward by some 12 months to 2014.

The obligatory security story saw researchers warning of a flourishing trade of cyber-crime "supermarkets" where crooks can sell nefarious tools to steal money and data with ease.
