Google Nexus 7 16GB model back on sale in UK

Search giant restocks UK shelves with budget tablet

The 16GB version of Google's new Nexus 7 tablet is back on sale via the UK Play Store, having sold out mere days after its initial release.

The tablet reappeared as available on the UK Play Store on Monday after over a week of unavailability.

The tablet sold out on 21 July, when Google re-listed the 16GB as "coming soon" after experiencing higher than anticipated demand for the device.

"We've had exceptional demand for the Nexus 7, especially the 16 GB in the UK. As such, we're currently replenishing, and expect the Play Store to have them back for order as soon as possible," a Google spokesperson told V3 at the time.

The Play Store was one of many to see the 16GB Nexus 7 sell out.

Currys and PC World reported that the 16GB Nexus 7 had sold out "pretty much everywhere" and Asus, the company that built the Nexus 7, has reported high demand from retailers for new stock.

"I am happy to report that we have seen phenomenal demand of the Nexus 7 by Asus through our retail partners," an Asus spokesperson told V3 last week.
