Lenovo unveils tiny ThinkCentre M92p business desktop PC

Compact one litre volume vPro system saves on desk space

Lenovo is bucking the trend that regards the desktop PC as virtually dead with the launch of a compact, one litre volume system along with a handful of other additions to its ThinkCentre line-up.

Available from July in the UK, the ThinkCentre M92p is claimed as the first one litre vPro desktop system by Lenovo, allowing it to fit into a confined space while maintaining first-class productivity.

The compact system, which is said to be no thicker than a golf ball at 34.5mm, supports Intel Core i5 processors, including the upcoming third-generation Core vPro versions of the Ivy Bridge processors, set to be unveiled next month.

Configuration options include SSD or traditional hard drives, while the system features USB 3.0 and built-in Wi-Fi, and can drive up to three monitors without the need for a discrete graphics card. It will cost from £600.

"ThinkCentre desktops are evolving to fit the needs of today's professional users, offering superior desktop power in a very innovative, space and energy efficient form factor," said Lu Yan, senior vice president of Lenovo's Think Products Group.

Meanwhile, the ThinkCentre M92z all-in-one is available in 20in and 23in versions, and can be configured with up to 1TB of storage and a discrete AMD Radeon graphics adapter on the 23in model.

Both will be offered with processors up to Intel's Core vPro i7 from July, with prices starting at £670.

Other models announced today include the ThinkCentre M82, priced from £460 and the ThinkCentre M72z all-in-one priced from £550, both of which will be available in July.
