Department for Education signs £575m ICT-for-schools deal

Information management and learning services form part of agreement

The Department for Education has signed a £575m framework agreement with 18 suppliers to provide ICT services to schools.

A contract notice on the Online Journal of the European Union said that the framework will enable educational institutes to obtain educational ICT goods and services that include information management and learning services.

It says that the information services will incorporate the ICT service managed provision of core elements of a management information system.

"There will be particular emphasis in ensuring that these services can share specific information with (at a minimum) the learning platform services they provide," the contract award reads.

Companies appointed to the framework for either the management information services or learning services are: Pearson Education, RM, Serco, Studywiz, Tribal, UniServity, Wauton Samuel and Webanywhere, Bromcom Computers, ILC Manchester, itslearning, Learning Possibilities, Novatia, Capita, CDSM, Civica, FrogTrade, Histon House, Pearson Education, RM, Serco, Studywiz, Tribal, UniServity, Wauton Samuel and Webanywhere.
