London NHS trusts plan £400m patient administration system
The solution will cover a wide range of clinical modules
Nine London-based NHS trusts are looking to collaboratively procure a patient administration system that could cost as much as £400m.
St George's Healthcare NHS Trust, based in Tooting in South London, is leading the tender process on behalf of the other trusts, including Imperial College Healthcare Trust and Croydon Healthcare Trust.
Vendors will be bidding to participate in two separate lots, the first of which is for the provision of a patient administration system and an electronic patient record system.
The tender states that these systems will have to include a full range of administrative and clinical modules required by the trusts, and suppliers will also be required to handle licensing, maintenance, deployment and support.
The second lot is for a clinical portal solution, which will "provide a highly configurable and secure mechanism to allow clinical end users and patients to interact with relevant trust data, without the need for them to access directly the trust's back-end solutions".
Interested parties have until 23 March to participate in the tender process.
