Network Rail in the market for a new B2B property customer portal

Portal to provide platform for all property business customer interactions

Network Rail has tendered for a supplier to design, develop, implement and support a new business-to-business property customer portal in a three-year deal.

The rail operator says the new portal will provide a common platform for all property business customer interactions with Network Rail.

Network Rail will issue suppliers who express an interest in the contract with a specification of the requirements of the solution.

Financial terms are not disclosed in the tender.

The online public tender specifies that the platform must comply with Network Rail's business and technical (functional and non-functional) standards, and that the supplier has to assume responsibility for end-to-end project management, coding and data configuration.

The supplier also has to "build interfaces to existing applications and applications in development; provide a service to host (software as a service) the portal and applications which are yet to be built as part of this contract; source third-party applications that will need to be provided as part of this contract; and provide change management and training expertise on using the portal and any related applications and processes".

The supplier is also required to provide "on-going maintenance and support; provide the service to deliver future enhancements and fixes to these applications; and provide support for any infrastructure and hosting requirements for the system".

The rail operator states that those who respond will need to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire.

Interested parties have until 9 March to submit an application.
