Lufthansa Cargo selects CA to aid its business agility

CA Clarity PPM chosen to improve processes

German cargo airline Lufthansa Cargo has implemented CA Clarity Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) in its bid to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.

CA's software will replace a number of applications at Lufthansa Cargo in order to make all its project information available in one place.

Lufthansa Cargo said it was looking to streamline workflows and therefore needed a new solution.

It said that the solution had to balance demand with capacity, capture costs and project transactions and ensure that strategic investments are directly related to corporate targets.

CA's system will provide resource, financial and portfolio management to try to meet Lufthansa Cargo's requirements.

"CA Clarity PPM was chosen over other providers on the strength of its functionality, its high-quality configuration options, and its flexibility," said Wolfram Martin, head of controlling cross functions at Lufthansa Cargo.

As one of the world's biggest cargo carriers, the company employs 4,500 people and delivers more than 1.8 million tonnes of freight to 300 destinations worldwide.
