European Banking Authority seeks new partner to service web site

The EBA aims to safeguard the EU's financial system

The European Banking Authority (EBA) has issued a contract to redesign and service its web site.

The EBA was established in November 2010 to act as a hub for protecting the stability of EU financial markets.

An online tender outlines that the EBA is seeking a partner for web site "service design, operation and transition including redesign".

It hopes that a better designed and serviced web site will support "outreach efforts aimed at informing the target audiences of the EBA's policies and activities".

The selected service provider will also be tasked with implementing effective prevention, detection and correction against malicious code, which will include installing virus protection software on all computers and implementing emergency procedures for dealing with virus incidents.

The contract is split into two lots, one for the design, operation and transition of the new web site, and the second for any additional design and transition services. Interested parties will have to bid for both lots.

The second lot is estimated to be worth up to £60,000 but there is no value provided for the first lot.

Requests to participate in the tender are being accepted up until 15 February 2012 and the contracts will last for 12 months after being awarded.
