Leaked Windows Phone roadmap reveals details of high-powered business device

High-end Apollo phone due for release in autumn

An apparently leaked Windows Phone roadmap sugests Microsoft is planning to launch a Windows Phone device more geared towards the needs of business users than those released so far.

The leaked roadmap is displayed on WMPoweruser, a Windows Phone tech site.

The roadmap shows the evolution of the Windows mobile beginning with the Windows Phone 7, which was released in February 2010. This is followed by the release of the Mango phone in February 2011, with its new features and languages, followed by Tango, due to be the next major upgrade and one that aims at mass distribution of cheap handsets - due for release in second quarter 2012.

But for business users the most interesting part of the leak is the description of a high-end device dubbed Apollo, which is apparently due for release in the fourth quarter of 2012 and is likely to come equipped with a powerful dual-core processor as well as an HD screen.
