City of London Corporation hunting for new CIO

The City of London Corporation is looking for a new CIO and offering a salary of between £87,030 and £98,540 to the right candidate.

The organisation runs institutions such as Tower Bridge, the Guildhall and the Barbican, and is involved in some of the capital's most significant building and regeneration projects.

The CIO will provide leadership and direction to the information systems division, a newly reorganised and unified service.

The City of London Corporation said it is looking for someone who will understand the importance of IT and its systems in terms of the formulation of the Corporation's strategic goals.

Holding a relevant degree-level qualification, the suitable candidate with have substantial professional experience, including some time spent in a management role with both strategic and operational responsibilities - ideally with public service and partner agencies.

The candidate will also have worked with managed services providers to achieve significant sustainable service improvements and outstanding results.

As well as expertise in a number of technological fields, candidates will be judged on their leadership capabilities, business acumen and strategic perspective.

The closing date for applications is 5pm, Wednesday 9 November, with final interviews due to start on 12 December.
