BAA appoints its first CTO
Ex-ITV man Simon Fell is to take the role, reporting to CIO Philip Langsdale
Airports operator BAA has announced that it has appointed Simon Fell as its first chief technology officer (CTO).
Fell currently works as a technical consultant at Freeview, and was previously director of future technologies at ITV.
He begins his new role at BAA in August and will report directly to chief information officer (CIO) Philip Langsdale. He will be responsible for strategy, technical innovation, programme development and technical standards, according to BAA.
Langsdale said: "I am delighted that Simon is joining BAA. He will be a valuable addition to the executive team in this new role where he will help strengthen and develop the technologies that we offer to our airports."
