Huawei unveils new Honeycomb tablet

Touch-screen MediaPad runs on Android 3.2 operating system

China-based device manufacturer Huawei has showcased its latest tablet, the MediaPad. The firm claims it is the first tablet to run on version 3.2 of Google's Android Honeycomb operating system.

The 7in tablet, which runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, was revealed in a short video on Youtube.

The device has 1080p HD output through HDMI, 15Mp and 1.3Mp rear- and front-facing cameras, 2.4/5GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and 14.4Mb/s HSPA connectivity.

The company has not yet revealed the screen resolution of the device, and pricing or availability details also remain unannounced.

Huawei's recent efforts in the tablet space include the Android operating system-based IDEOS S7 Slim.
