PizzaExpress gets Wi-Fi in stores

Restaurant chain will be using The Cloud

PizzaExpress is delivering free Wi-Fi services to its 384 UK restaurants, using a service from The Cloud, a BSkyB-owned company.

The PizzaExpress hotspots will allow customers to browse the internet, catch up on email, stream video and music, and interact with a range of mobile applications.

"The rollout satisfies growing consumer demand for free access to the web in our restaurants, and the convenience and flexibility that brings," said John Sullivan, IT director at PizzaExpress.

"As a market leader, PizzaExpress will continue to embrace technology opportunities to improve our customers' experience."

The addition of PizzaExpress to its Wi-Fi network is The Cloud's latest effort to increase the number of Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK. It already provides Wi-Fi for the likes of McDonald's, Pret A Manger and J D Wetherspoon with a network of more than 4,500 public access hotspots.
