Donna Karan mixes it up with Maple Lake software
Luxury design brand uses new IT to align stores with shoppers' preferences
Fashion retailer Donna Karan has chosen retail software expert Maple Lake to provide planning and analytics software for its stores.
The software, called Quick Assortment and Quick Analytics, creates unique assortments of merchandise per store, which is designed to align with the preferences of shoppers in that branch.
The software has also been designed to work across its e-commerce stores.
Donna Sarian, VP of planning and allocation at Donna Karan, said: "In the luxury market, we have to be sensitive to the individual preferences of our customers and ensure that we have clothes that inspire them when they visit our stores.
"From an inventory planning and management point of view, our challenge is to balance the needs of a multi-brand, multi-channel organisation with long design and buying cycles.
"The software helps us understand how much to mark down, fine-tune the targeted inventory levels, and maintain the right amount of cover".
