BAE Systems buys cyber security firm for £137m

BAE Systems has acquired Danish firm ETI, a specialist in diagnostics and data analytics

Defence company BAE Systems has bought Danish cyber security firm ETI for £137m.

ETI provides law enforcement agencies and telecommunication providers with diagnostic and data analysis products.

BAE Systems said on its web site that the acquisition supports its strategy to grow its security services business in the cyber crime and intelligence sectors.

Paul Corren, managing partner of law firm Corren Troen, which worked with BAE Systems on the deal, said: "This deal complements BAE's drive to grow its security services business in cyber and intelligence, and it represents one of the largest private treaty corporate sales in the region."

This latest purchase follows the acquisition of cyber intelligence firm Detica in 2008, which operates in the same market.
