Metro Bank goes mobile
The ARC Mobile solution will offer alerts, interactive enquiries and payment capabilities
The UK's newest high-street lender, Metro Bank, will offer a mobile banking service to its customers by the end of the year.
The bank will deploy ARC Mobile, a mobile banking solution from Temenos.
Metro Bank argued that there are many services that are either better or uniquely served through a handset, such as real-time fraud alerts.
Using the Temenos solution, Metro Bank expects to deliver a range of products and services including alerts, interactive enquiries and payments, enabling customers to access the bank via mobile phones.
"ARC Mobile offers a flexible, secure mobile solution so we can extend our services and put Metro Bank securely in the pocket of our customers," said Aisling Kane, chief operations officer at Metro Bank.
"It will allow us to build on our market differentiation through simple self-service and mobile payments."
ARC Mobile now offers full support for a range of smartphone platforms, including Windows Phone7, iPhone, Android and Java platforms including BlackBerry.
