Playboy archive comes to the iPad
Publisher launches full archive and paid subscription service for Apple iPad
Playboy magazine is putting its entire archive online, by launching a web-based subscription service for the iPad.
Playboy Enterprises today announced that i.Playboy.com will be optimised for Apple's device, and a subscription to iPlayboy will cost $8 (£5) a month or $60 per year.
The archive will consist of more than 130,000 pages, containing every interview, picture and article that has appeared in Playboy since the inaugural 1953 issue.
The launch is also of note because Apple founder Steve Jobs has said in the past that there should be no pornographic content on Apple products.
German magazine Stern had its app pulled because it runs topless photo spreads, while newspaper Bild had to superimpose bikinis onto pictures of topless models.
