Firefox 4 downloads triple those of Internet Explorer 9
Result achieved in less than 48 hours of the release of Mozilla's latest browser
Mozilla's latest release of its Firefox browser has seen triple the number of downloads that Internet Explorer achieved in its first week, in less than 48 hours after its release.
Mozilla Firefox 4 boasts graphics accelerated hardware, WebGL support, and improved JavaScript performance, according to Computing's Reviews Editor.
Since its launch yesterday, Firefox 4 has achieved mroe than 7.8 million downloads, compared with the 2 million Microsoft's Internet Explorer 9 managed in its first week.
It will be interesting to see whether this has an impact on the global market share for the browsers, where Internet Explorer currently dominates with 56.77 per cent, according to NetMarketshare.
Firefox is currently in second place with 21.74 per cent and Google Chrome third with 10.93 per cent.
