Major office supplier to deploy Manhattan Scale across its warehouse estate
The Vasanta Group opted for supply chain optimisation software that was fully compatible with Microsoft
Major UK office supplier Vasanta is about to embark on a full rollout of Manhattan's supply chain optimisation software after a successful implementation at one of its sites last year.
Vasanta processes its orders at three main warehouses, and has chosen to implement the software, called Manhattan Scale, across all three.
"We needed a state-of-the-art warehouse supply chain system, and after going live with Manhattan last October, we were better able to effectively manage everything from stock control to product movement through the warehouse," said Kevin Carrick, group IT director at Vasanta Group.
"We have already made a return on investment in the first warehouse, and so are planning to roll out the software across our two other warehouses in the near future," he added.
Carrick said that implementation had so far cost about £500k.
"The main problem we had was that we needed a product that fitted in with the business. We are a company completely founded in Microsoft, more specifically Microsoft SQL 2008 R2," said Carrick.
"Manhattan is able to efficiently integrate with Microsoft, and we also plan to incorporate it into our new ERP platform Dynamics AX."
Vasanta plans to implement the ERP system across all of its core business units over the next 18 months.
