BT manages traffic to enhance online services

Firm takes up Zeus Technology to support its web offerings

BT has just completed a global rollout of its web traffic management software in a bid to better manage its customers' access to online services.

The service took less than a month to deploy compared with similar implementations that have taken more than three months to roll out, according to BT.

Zeus Traffic Manager has been rolled out to all BT's main web sites to support the online services it offers, including its customer account pages, which serve more than 15 million registered users. They process in excess of 100 million hits per day and handle more than 100,000 business transactions.

The solution means BT can manage peak demands in traffic during marketing campaigns, routing customers flexibly based on service availability.
