Leak exposes Nokia N9's vital statistics

Pictures and specifications of MeeGo smartphone appear on Chinese web site

Nokia's N9 handset is expected to feature the Linux-based MeeGo platform

A document apparently detailing the technical specifications for Nokia’s forthcoming N9 smartphone has appeared on a Chinese web site less than a week after the publication of photos claiming to show the handset.

According to the posting, the new handset will be running a Qualcomm 1GHz QSD8250 processor with 512MB of RAM, 1GB NANDM and 64GB of internal storage. The device also has microSD removable media.

The device will have a 4in Super AMOLED screen and is reported to be running the first version of the MeeGo operating system that Nokia is planning to use to replace Symbian in high-end smartphones, according to screenshots.

The device will have HSPA+ cellular connectivity and will support 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and version 2.0 of Bluetooth for connecting to peripheral devices. The specifications also indicate it can take 720p video at 30 frames per second.

According to the leaked photos the handset will have a hard QWERTY keyboard and its product code matches that of Nokia’s hardware prototype line, which suggests the images are genuine.
