Asus claims world's fastest smartphone
P565 business phone has more grunt than the rest
Asus claims that its P565 has beaten all other phones in speed testing
Asus is claiming that its new P565 business smartphone, which uses an 800MHz processor and runs Windows Mobile 6.1, is the fastest in the world.
The company said that the P565 has beaten all other phones in speed testing using the Vsbenchmark testing suite.
However, this power comes at a price as the phone offers just three hours of 3G talk time or four hours at 2G.
"The Asus P565 is geared toward the business community," said the company in a statement. "The coupling of an 800MHz processor and Glide, an innovative touch-responsive user interface exclusive to select Asus PDA phones, makes for a powerful, productivity-boosting combination."
The Glide interface uses a 2.8in multi-touch screen displaying at 480 x 640 pixels. The phone also has a 3-megapixel camera, GPS and MicroSD removable storage, and the ability to scan data from business cards.
A photo is taken of the card and software pulls off the data and adds it to the contacts database.
