Lenovo offers budget ThinkPad Edge 11 laptop
11in model takes aim at ultra-portables
The ThinkPad Edge 11 starts at £375
Lenovo has added to its Edge notebook line with an 11in ThinkPad system that it claims will provide the performance of a netbook or ultra-portable.
The ThinkPad Edge 11 is targeted at the small and medium sized enterprise market, and will start at around £375.
"Just like large businesses, small business customers want laptops that go the distance for performance without skimping on features, that fit their unique style and come at the right price," said Lenovo ThinkPad marketing vice president Dilip Bhatia.
"That's why we've created the ThinkPad Edge 11in laptop with the latest processors for multitasking, 3G for anywhere connectivity and extra business-focused features like a standard low light-sensitive webcam."
Lenovo is selling the system on its smaller, lightweight design. The 11.6in notebook is 2.8cm thick and weighs in at 1.3kg with its standard three cell battery.
Buyers have a choice of Intel or AMD processors in single- and dual-core configurations, and the option of a three-cell battery, or a six-cell unit which bumps battery life up to a claimed seven hours.
The system includes three USB ports, a media card reader, HDMI output and an option for 3G connectivity.
