Lenovo refreshes ThinkCentre desktop line-up

Keenly priced A70 and M70e models aimed at SMEs and corporates

Lenovo is promising powerful yet affordable desktop computing

Lenovo has unveiled two desktops designed to offer companies large and small a low-cost, powerful computing solution.

The ThinkCentre A70 and M70e desktops offer the latest processing, memory and graphics performance at a price tag that starts around the £400 mark.

The A70 is pitched at small business users and, according to the firm, is a reliable beast. The M70e, meanwhile, is the bigger brother of the two and adds a range of advanced features.

"Desktop PCs remain the backbone of many businesses today with many small and medium business customers depending on reliable PC performance to accomplish critical operational tasks," said Tom Shell, vice president of ThinkCentre desktop product marketing at Lenovo.

"The ThinkCentre A70 and M70e deliver practical performance and good-looking design at an affordable price."

Each of the desktop units comes in a choice of sizes, either a small form factor unit or a tower machine, and are clad in black.

USB ports are in easy-to-reach places, while a top handle makes moving them easier.

Under this black exterior lies a choice of processor, the Intel Core2Duo, Pentium and Celeron processors on the A70 and Core2Quad processors in the M70e. Graphics wise, users can elect for Nvidia GeForce FX380 Quadro or Intel integrated GMA X4500 graphics.

DDR3 memory ranges up to 4GB, while the in-built hard drive offers from 500GB to 1TB. Adding to its business credentials, the M70e also offers an optional chassis intrusion switch and USB port disablement.

Other additions to this model, the higher priced of the two, include an 8-in-1 card reader, and as many as eight USB slots.

The desktops are available from this month, and prices start at £300 for the A70 and £380 for the M70e.
