Gunners target secure player data
Buffalo NAS systems support Arsenal FC
Premiership football club Arsenal is to install a networked storage system from Buffalo at the club's training ground in Hertfordshire.
The system will keep player information and analysis data on two of Buffalo's TeraStation ES network attached storage (NAS) devices and eight MiniStation portable hard drives.
The drives will be used by the club's analysis team, medical staff and coaches. Hardware encryption on the drives ensures that the highly sensitive data will be secure even if the drives are lost or stolen.
The plug-and-play hard drives will be shared between the various staff teams who all use laptops, said Sean O'Connor, facilities manager at Arsenal's training ground, so portability combined with security were essential requirements.
"Best of all, they come in red. It was like they were made just for Arsenal," he added.
