New degree course aims to bridge gap between education and employment

University of Brighton will launch a new MSc course, sponsored by the IT services provider the FDM Group

The University of Brighton will today announce the launch of its MSc in Applied Computer Science. The course is fully funded by IT services provider FDM Group.

FDM Group said that the aim of the MSc course is to tackle the IT skills shortage, and bridge the gap between university and employment for graduates looking to pursue a career in IT.

The company added that it will be recruiting 1,000 IT graduates in 2011, so it is in its own interests to ensure such courses are available to students.
