Computer Aid appoints new CEO
David Barker becomes charity's new chief following the departure of founder Tony Roberts
Charity Computer Aid International has appointed David Barker as its CEO, following the departure of former CEO and founder Tony Roberts.
Barker has previous CEO and director level experience at the Royal Academy of Arts, the Childrens' Trust, Practical Action and the Chartered Accountants' Benevolent Association (CABA).
Roberts, who has left the charity after 14 years, will now pursue a PHD in ICT for Development.
Sara Williams, Computer Aid's chair, said: "We are delighted David has joined Computer Aid, he brings with him a wealth of experience to help drive Computer Aid forward and build on its previous successes. We are proud of what Computer Aid has achieved so far and we look forward to working with David to continue our work."
The charity is a leading non-profit provider of ICT for development, having provided over 175,000 refurbished PCs and laptops for use in schools, hospitals and community projects in more than 100 countries including Rwanda, Chile and Zambia.
