BP signs $400m deal with HP
Standardisation will lead to IT cost reduction, says oil giant
Hot on the heels of last week's contract with E.ON, HP has landed another mega-outsourcing deal in the energy sector.
The $400m (£258) five-year contract signed with oil giant BP will see HP take responsibility for all of BP's data centres in Europe and the US. HP already manages all BP's IT facilities in the UK and some in Europe.
The deal will allow BP to reduce the cost of its IT by standardising its data centre operations, the company said.
