Yahoo set to slash more than 600 jobs
Search engine provider set for fourth round of cuts
Search engine provider Yahoo is set to lay off more than 600 employees today, according to reports.
The job losses would represent about five per cent of the firm's 14,100-strong workforce.
Yahoo has been planning to cut 650 employees since earlier this month, according to technology blog AllThingsD, and now it seems that the job losses will take place today, according to The New York Times.
Another source reaffirmed to news agency Reuters that Yahoo planned to cut between 600 and 700 employees from its US-based product group.
The job cuts would mark the fourth major round of staff cuts that the company has enacted in three years and a formal announcement is expected later today, when staff are officially notified.
