British Airways extends the use of mobile boarding passes
BlackBerry and Android users will now be able to download boarding pass app
Mobile boarding passes see a surge in downloads
Following the introduction of the Mobile Boarding Pass on the iPhone for customers in July, British Airways (BA) has extended the scheme to BlackBerry and Android users.
Since the iPhone app was launched, more than 30,000 customers have used the paperless pass and the number of downloads is currently at more than 250,000.
BA is the first airline to develop a boarding pass app for UK customers, and it can be used when travelling on any domestic flight and to many European destinations.
The app also provides access to real-time flight information and allows customers to be guided through each stage of the flight process.
