RSPCA aims to prevent downtime
Charity signs three-year networking support deal
IT is vital to the animal charity
The RSPCA has signed a three-year network maintenance contract to help reduce IT overheads, minimise downtime and improve staff productivity.
The deal with IT services company Selection Services will support the charity’s Cisco telephony and data infrastructure.
RSPCA information systems planning manager Aaron Pacifico says the infrastructure is vital in enabling animal welfare services to be delivered quickly and efficiently, as well as managing and generating donations to fund these services.
‘It is impossible to work without our technology infrastructure, whether in a complete office environment or a hospital,’ said Pacifico.
‘For example, our records management system is online, and if you take it away, we are stuck.’
The RSPCA’s IT network includes more than 1,000 PCs and supports some 1,400 employees.
‘If one of our PCs breaks down, that is time taken away from caring for animals, so it is crucial that we have a support team that can arrive on site within two hours,’ said Pacifico.
‘Under the new deal, there is a much higher service level and better response and fix time for our desktop and communications equipment.’
