Logo to show Wi-Fi draft-n kit is OK
The Wi-Fi Alliance is to issue logos indicating draft 802.11n compliance, ahead of the final ratified spec
The Wi-Fi Alliance has taken the unusual step of issuing a new logo aimed at reassuring users that laptops and other Wi-Fi hardware are compliant with the latest 802.11n draft 2.0 specification.
The logos should be spotted on products shortly, in preparation for the late-June launch of the Alliance’s certification programme.
In a statement, Wi-Fi Alliance managing director Frank Hanzlik said: "This milestone means that consumers and business users alike can feel confident that the 802.11n products they buy will deliver the user experience they require.”
The Alliance also listed products from Intel, Cisco, Atheros, Broadcom, Marvel and Ralink that comply with the draft spec and will be used in a test bed for other products.
