Skybox releases best practices risk management guide
Guidelines devised by risk management firm Skybox aim to help IT chiefs become more proactive
Risk and change management specialist Skybox has released a new guide designed to help chief information security officers (CISOs) and IT chiefs understand their level of security risk management maturity, and to offer best practice advice on how to improve matters.
The free Security Risk Management (SRM) Blueprint is a vendor-neutral document which sets out to define the term, as well as provide firms with a range of guidance on how to " move up the maturity curve", according to Skybox's vice president of worldwide marketing Ed Cooper.
"It also defines the key processes you might consider and which lend themselves to automation," Cooper explained. "There are many documents like this in the industry but there's almost too much information in them and it's hard to put in perspective what it means to me and my organisation; what you need is a best practices guide."
Cooper added that the document is intended to help IT security chiefs move from a reactive to a proactive approach to security risk management.
