JavaOne to feature new tracks
JavaOne developer conference kicks off in San Francisco
The JavaOne developer conference kicks off in San Francisco next week with over 15,000 people expected to descend on the show to hear keynotes from Sun CTO Bob Brewin and James Gosling, co-creator of Java, as well as partners Oracle, Intel and Motorola.
There will also be an update on Sun’s progress on its open Java Development Kit (JDK), and an opportunity for developers to share experiences on “how to exploit the full power of Java Standard Edition 6.0”, according to Sun’s director of developer marketing, Jean Elliott.
“The theme this year is ‘open possibilities’ and will see a lot more new tracks in the curriculum around open-source and consumer technology, and tools for next generation web and services integration,” Elliott explained.
There will also be a new track for business people “who need to understand the powers of the Java ecosystem” and another concentrating on Java's role in the emerging digital TV market, Elliott added.
