Multi-channel retailer boosts supply chain success
Virgin Vie At Home reviews warehouse performance
Multi-channel cosmetics and jewellery retailer Virgin Vie At Home is using supply chain software to improve efficiency in staff deployjment, order processing and warehouse re-stocking.
The company is also using performance services software to review the supply chain project and boost the return on investment.
The aim is to improve the handling of increased orders caused by peak Christmas trading, new product launch and re-branding of the company itself.
Virgin Vie At Home runs Manhattan Associates’ Warehouse Management software on an IBM iSystem platform. The company hopes to support future expansion by creating a robust and scalable supply chain technology platform.
IT director Ian Chapman says the system has made a significant impact on the efficiency of its warehouse operations.
'Following the process improvements introduced and some configuration changes made to the software, we have seen significant improvements in many areas of the warehouse operation,’ he said.
‘Having this completed in time for our busy Christmas period was an added bonus.’
