Vitacress sows seeds for improved efficiency
Salad firm installs time and attendance system
Vitacress system will be integrated with its back office
Vitacress Salads Ltd has signed a contract with Crown Computing to implement a time and attendance system integrated with its existing back office payroll and finance systems.
In the initial roll out later this year the system will manage 550 employees across its inspection and packaging facility and dispatch centre.
The system will incorporate activity management via shop floor data tracking and provide labour costing and information to support the monitoring of key performance indicators within the Vitacress business.
It is expandable for use across Vitacress’ other business areas including its farms in the UK and abroad.
Tony Alcock, human resources manager at Vitacress, said: ‘The requirement was to adopt a solution which is capable of interfacing with existing payroll, financial and operational data to deliver up to date activity and labour costs for the business at departmental levels.’
Alcock says the system will improve manufacturing operations by maximising labour efficiency, reducing the time it takes to perform the time and attendance reconciliation for payroll and give them better management information.
‘The system will allow the company to better understand and manage absenteeism across both sites, over many shift patterns, 24/7, 365 days of the year,’ said Alcock.
