Gang given total of 34-years in jail

A gang who planned to rob Comstor UK of computer equipment worth £26m have been sentenced to a total of 34 years in prison.

The seven men either pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob or conspiracy to burgle the distributor which specialises in Cisco products.

The London-based gang who were sentenced at Harrow Crown Court toady were foiled by police in their attempt to rob the warehouse in Cirencester last December.

Ringleader David Andrew Thomas (37) of Whitehaven, Luton also pleaded guilty to comitting acts intended to pervert the course of public justice.

Thomas, who was sentenced to nine and a half years, tried to bribe a police officer to ‘crash the case’ mentioning a sum of £50,000, but was recorded doing so.
