LSE launches early-morning data service
New tool allows traders to receive regulatory updates before trading starts
An early morning service will save traders time at the LSE
The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has launched an early-morning data service which enables traders to receive critical regulatory information before the start of business.
The system will initially focus on company dividend data which is updated throughout the day and can be fed into traders' daily strategies.
Time saving ahead of the market opening is the main benefit of the service, which removes the need to check company announcements manually to obtain dividend data.
Plans for the service include the delivery of real-time UK regulatory disclosures in a standardised machine-readable format, according to the LSE.
Extra functionality to be added in the future also includes additional early-morning and intra-day data extracted from regulatory announcements such as turnover, profit, earnings per share and directors' dealings.
