BMC bolsters its transaction tool range
New tools from the management software specialist should help firms avoid costly downtime
IT management software specialist BMC will today beef up its transaction management portfolio with the launch of new products designed to help firms reduce the downtime of their transactional systems.
BMC Transaction Management Application Response Time monitors the end user experience of a business transaction, measures response times and reports on technical problems, while BMC Mainview Transaction Analyzer tracks transaction's progress through the mainframe.
Peter Armstrong, corporate strategist at BMC, said the ability to detect problems within business transactions limits downtime and lowers maintenance costs. "It takes most IT departments 80 percent of down time finding a problem and 20 percent of the time to fix the problem," he said. "Transaction management tools automatically find and diagnose the problem."
BMC added that it plans to launch further tools later in the year to monitor and manage transactions in distributed IT environments as well as in the mainframe.
