Woolworths collective intelligence technology scheme could increase average web order values by 20 per cent by improving customer shopping advice.

The system will analyse customer behaviour, including popular searches and previous purchases, and generate real-time recommendations for other customers browsing the site.

Multi-channel sales - which represent about five per cent of the chain's total revenues - can increase to 10 per cent at busy periods such as Christmas.
