Mozilla updates Firefox browser
Mozilla has released a beta of the next version of its Firefox browser, which includes features to simplify rollouts across multiple desktops and speed up installation of browser updates.
Tristan Nitot, president of Mozilla Europe, said the new version lets IT managers deploy Firefox across thousands of PCs with ease, using a Windows installer tool.
The browser update process has also been speeded up – only new features will now be installed. “People on the road, or using modems, will be able to update whenever they want, ensuring they always have the most secure version,” said Nitot.
Features have also been added to help people with poor eyesight, such as the ability to change backgrounds, text size and colour.
Meanwhile, better support for file extensions, Cascading Style Sheets and SVG graphics should appeal to developers.
