Gartner to buy AMR specialists
Technology research and analysis firm Gartner has said it will acquire supply chain specialist AMR Research for $64m (£38.9m).
The acquisition will expand Gartner’s research suite, complement its consulting and events businesses, and enable opportunities for syndicated research. AMR projects full-year revenue for 2010 of $40m.
The AMR Research team comprises about 40 research analysts and 45 sales executives.
Gene Hall, Gartner's chief executive officer, said: "AMR Research is the market leader for research related to supply chain management, which is inextricably linked to IT and has become a central issue for many organisations. "
He added: "The acquisition should give us a presence in this market and allow us to generate synergies by selling AMR Research products to Gartner clients and vice versa."
