Olive oil producer boosts business intelligence

Minerva mines data to boost performance and time savings

Olive oil producer Minerva is using software to extract information from its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system reports to boost business performance.

The 100-year-old company translates information and data into spreadsheets and end user reports without the need for significant IT skills or resources.

It also handles account reconciliation, condensing information such as monthly stock transactions, affecting business critical and legal tax reports.

Minerva project manager Glen Rigby said: ‘There is a lot of technical information that I do not need to know to get at important data.

‘It means I am less likely to miss something important that would otherwise lead to incorrect results and I am therefore better placed to make more informed and timely business decisions.’

Minerva selected Monarch software, which has filtering, sorting and summary functions to generate time savings when creating and cross checking reports.

IT manager Stamatis Vlachos added: ‘Since Monarch was introduced, the supporting IT resources required have been significantly reduced and daily business runs more smoothly.’
