Atos Origin revenue holds steady

And UK revenue rises eight per cent on strength of new contracts

Atos Origin supplies the Olympics with IT

French IT services company Atos Origin has reported 2009 first quarter revenue of €1.3bn (£1.15bn), a 0.6 per cent decrease year on year.

Atos, which supplies IT services to the Olympic Games and specialises in secure online payments, said that in the current tough economic environment, its priorities for 2009 are to improve operational performance and cash flow generation.

The firm cut net debt to €296m (£260m) at March 2009 from €304m (£268m) at December 2008.

A 15 per cent drop in consulting and a six per cent drop in systems integration revenue were offset by a 5.5 per cent rise in sales from managed operations.

UK revenue saw an eight per cent rise to €211m (£186m) on the strength of public sectors contracts and deals with firms such as Brakes and Premier Foods.
